I selected the Cheat Fest weekend because I'll be canoe camping in Smoke Hole Canyon the prior weekend. Run Cheat Narrows and then go to the festival afterwards. Warmer water and I think it is more interesting without being more difficult. It has fewer surfing opportunities but better river running options. An even better run would be the Dry Fork which has the best surfing I've ever encountered. Every 100 yards or so from the put in to the Otter Creek bridge there is a surfing wave or hole. Slight exaggeration.
