roll call. who's wearing face protection?????
and if you are wearing a facemask, what kind?
Protector
Most popular is a Cascade Designs helmet and faceguard. I use a slalom ski gate deflector for ski helmets, Weighs nothing, strong, single bar, Screwed to Seda kevlar helmet easily. Not as much protection as Cascade guard but lots better than nothing.
Faceguard is needed particularly during the backroll...
I don´t use any and I developed a kind of protective technique during the backroll... I do the stroke in such a way that the shaft of the paddle is in front of my face all the time parrying away the rocks. Thus the shaft gets the hits I might have got in the face.

Cascade Helmet and Cascade mask - self mounted. I got one when I found it cheap. I figured it was a subtle message to buy one I also only use it on steeper or more technical bony creeks. I've got another lid for playboating and squirting
