Esquif related questions? Let me help
Hey there!
Some know me having been a teamrider with Esquif for a while now. I still have that function, but also help in other ways a bit.
Some questions keep coming up so I'd thought I'd introduce myself
So, for questions and quicker answers ( I know we've been not the best in answering), you could contact the respective sales rep of your area (listed on the website), or ask me and I will answer or find out who can help you.
My contacts are barm.engineering@gmail.com or facebook Sabrina Barm Whitewater Athlete
@Sir Adam, feel free to place this post if it's not right where it is

Re: Esquif related questions? Let me help
I'm not as good at answering questions... But am very excited to be getting a super light weight Esquif L'Edge. It's called a L'edge Lite comp. The "comp" being short form for "competition weight".
So if there's a portaging competition... i'll be a contender!
ps. I think boat is about 43 lbs!

I'm not in the market for another L'edge but I'd love to hear more about the construction of the 'comp' version when it's available. At first I thought 'comp' might stand for composite but perhaps not?
Re: Esquif related questions? Let me help
The "Comp" refers to "Competition". Not that I'd really use it for racing, but I'll treat it more like a race car than a bulldozer. i'm still gonna do rock 360's everywhere, scrub boof everything, and try ELF runs. But I will make an effort to: not run over it with my car, remember to tie it to the roof racks and maybe not slide down concrete stairs with it.
I hear via facebook that Shawn Malone has done some hands on testing with a piece of the hull material and results are great.

latest word on the esquif L'edge. From this point, the name for the lightweight version is the L'edge superlite. short and to the point, describes the boat perfectly. Can't wait to get my hands on mine, just a little short on open water here at the moment...

Re: Esquif related questions? Let me help
Hey Sabrina et al
Other than the L'Edges coming out of L L, is Esquif going to bring back the other PE hulls they've made previously: Spanish Fly, Prelude?
And what's happening with T-Formex for whitewater boats: Spark, Vertige-X, etc.? Any movement?
Thanks
Rick

Re: L'edge weight
yes, L'edge Superlite is 43 lbs wood trim, standard outfitting. For comparison the L'edge lite is 51 lbs.

Heya!
Spanish Fly: dunno,.dont think so
Prelude: yes, will be manufactured in the UK
TFormex:
All are now being made in TFormex. I got my hands on a Vertige in TFormex in November; it was amazingly light and really nice to handle
However, the demand seems to be so high it's hard to follow
Hope that helps?
Regards,
Sabrina

I think we all hope that TFormex will enable Esquif to be successful, and get production back up to speed for WW boats, as well as recreational/tripping canoes.
PERSONALLY (from my narrow little viewpoint), I'd hate to see the Sp'Fly stay out of production. If the Fly goes, only the Force remains, among partially-decked hulls.
I believe the Fly has a strong following. I have one, and love it. I would hate to think I couldn't replace it.
And -- Ou sont les partially-decked-playboats d'antan??? The Superfly is long gone, but arouses great interest among those in the know. The Quake has an incredible cult-following, and they are grabbed up before they ever hit the F/S market. Even the much maligned Aftershock shows up in the "wanted" columns.
If you have any pull with Esquif, please suggest they not abandon the Spanish Fly!!!

Oooooh,
On a point of general curiosity more than anything, does this mean that esquif are back in business, or has someone bought the IP & Moulds?
