heres what im working with... this worked ok until i got comfortable enough to start attempting moves requiring sudden heavy shifting. hole moves "loop, cross bow pirouette, cartwheels etc" buckle shifts slips and generally loosens often to the extent that any follow up move is a mute point. buckle also binds when realeased and webbing feeds through fast, "think jammed seat belt while getting trased in a hole". this sucks big time. i would appreciate any good advice on getting this girl "super tight" and safer. airplane buckles? are they good? anyone have a rescource? anyone with good pics or ideas. is there anybody out there...

Thigh straps instead of suicide belt, more foam, a few options for buckles, including yes airplane buckles (someone posted a source the last few weeks.. a search should turn it up). I like the feed-through loops that when you pull up on them release, otherwise hold tight- no moving parts to break. plastic cam ("dive belt" ) buckles can work too, though I can't always get them as tight as I'd like.

That type of buckle works best with scuba webbing (name?) which has a heavily textured weave. It's hard to see in the photo exactly what type of webbing you have, but if it's the slick surface type it will slip easier through the buckle. If you can't find scuba webbing, PM me and I'll send you some.

Part of it could be the buckle(?). I've never used a plastic one. The metal ones lock really well on the scuba webbing.

You will want to have a belt going over each thigh, starting in your crotch, and ending at or behind your hips. The higher up your thigh you can get the belts, the more secure you'll be. Search here for a snap-shackle release system. My C1 doesn't have a bulkhead - it's snowboard bindings and airplane seatbelts with a snap-shackle. It's just a creeker, so I'm not trying to initiate big moves, but I feel really secure and connected to the boat, and the release has worked on-time, every time so far.

seatbeltplanet.com airplane (lift latch style) seatbelts are the bees knees. they hold real tight and come apart very quick and easy.

in a playboat I use thigh straps and a "suicide" belt.

airplane belt is secured to the rail behind my seat and comes around my hips/waist, other than that you just gotta foam out your boat and make adjustments till it fits you tight.
