How do you dispose of old trashed Royalex hulls
I have a POS 2007 Outrage hull that cracked after 15 paddles, and Confluence Kayak Corp refused to do anything to honor the so-called warranty. I repaired it and kept padding it till it was beyond hope. It has been hanging in my basement and used for equipment storage for a couple of years but I would like to get it out of here. How do you get rid of these big old hunks of plastic? I guess the landfill is the only option?

Where do you live?

You could take it to ALFest, sneak over to Louie's trashed Royalex dump, and leave it there.
I couldn't get the trash truck to take my old poly Sage until I sawed it in half and put the pieces, vertically, in a trash can.
A guy near where I live has made a mailbox tower out of the front half of a Dagger kayak.
Could you use a compost container in your yard?
Whether you take it to the landfill yourself, or expect the DPW to pick it up, I recommend borrowing a reciprocating saw and cutting it into manageable pieces.

EZwater thanks for the ideas. Mailbox tower inspires idea for a sort of canoe grave "Stonehenge" in the backyard...Not sure neighbors or wife would appreciate its historical, artistic and archeological value however.

I keep picturing one of those "Virgin in a Bathtub" type shrines...

I use the old boats for projects.
Re: How do you dispose of old trashed Royalex hulls
Make a single bed from it. Mount it on four posts, but the hull to length, and insert a slatted base. I considered making bunk beds from an old 16 footer that I had, but then someone offered me good money for it.
Re: How do you dispose of old trashed Royalex hulls
I searched images for "canoe bed" and found some other interesting uses of old hulls, e.g. planter bed; or cut in half transversely, stand on cut edges, then install shelves.

Post it on a club list serv or Web site as free boat, needs repair. People will take anything if its free. I did that with a Viper 12, and it was like a feeding frenzy. People were begging not to give away the boat to someone else.
