Spark would be a good option!! It is light, it is fast, I think it would work great for a smaller paddler....

Communication, is more about letting your partner know of what you want to do, and that start on land. I agree that some time it is better to stay quite and go with the flow... As long as both of you agreed to do so!!

I have the edge 2 piece, but instead of having it made to break at the blade/shaft junction, I had them make it in to equal pieces. so it fit real well under the flotation of most solo. It is a 56, so it make a 28 inches packable paddle. it is also a bit less wobbly than the 3 piece.

I don't think the one by NC will be any better. So far I have not been impress by the quality of there RX boats. I guess RX is not as it used to be.
