Re: boats for sale: Batmax C-1, Torrent C-2
My brother-in-law lives in Trumansburg and teaches at Cornell. Crap! I wish I was in the market. He is coming down this weekend and both boats look really good for their age. Definitely good designs for training and tooling around on rivers.

... in the picture), they are both prepped for patching although could also be covered by duct tape - neither are through all layers of cloth. The Batmax C-2 had deck damage and again impact damage on one seamline, these have been patched with layers of e-glass & nylon in epoxy resin. Both are ...

That's cool. I am keeping my old slalom boats for the grand children to try if they are interested.old and in the way wrote:Taking this one off the market. After our last race in C-2, my daughter said "I'd like to learn C-1 now"

Re: I think it's a Batmax
I don't see wings. I would guess UltraMax.
Apple made a version of the Max II and the UltraMax. The Max II was 8" deep, and the Ultra was something less than that.

Re: I think it's a Batmax
That looks like an old Apple Line boat. Probably a Batmax as they went out of business before the Extra-Bat came outold and in the way wrote:For sale - think it might be a Batmax
There is probably a piece of paper laminated inside the cockpit with a model/serial/build date/possibly layup

I think it's a Batmax
For sale - think it might be a Batmax, no idea who made it or what the layup is. It's been shortened to 11' 10", pretty decent work. I bought it for the kids to try out, only been on the water a couple times, barely a mark on it. $200 Firm ...

... about wanting to see the bow more like the "S" version than the "L" version. In making the comparison with the design transition from the Batmax to the Torrent/Torrent XL I was trying to make the point that retention of that sharper "S" bow may not be feasible when scaling up the design ...

... back than most C-2s to have the proper trim and good handling of the boat ie so it's not bow heavy. I know all about the Torrent as I paddled a Batmax for 8-9 years (Max II before that and Zealot after that). We paddled and raced wtih PSOC folks and they built some Torrent XL C-2s I believe. ...

... forward that Davey Hearn and Jon Lubill had made in C-1 by going from the Cudamax (the last slalom C-1 with a "full width" hull) to the narrower Batmax (with a narrower hull that required "wings" to meet ICF width regulations). The Torrent, which was much lower in volume than prior slalom C-2s ...
