Well, I have paddled the Nitro and Detonator from Esquif, but they did not really impress my, as they both felt somewhat sluggish and heavy. Their Zoom is a good boat, it's fairly similar to the Prelude, same length, a bit less rockered. But I'll take the durability of PE over royalex any day. I hav...

Well, the Outrage and any other open boat in it's class feels like a big barge compared to the Prelude. The prelude is very much a shortened and narrower version of the Ocoee with more rocker. Primary stability is minimal, but once you lean it the secondary stability really kicks in. It is great in ...

T-rescue
Hi Matt, Yes, I was thinking from an open boaters prospective. I am not sure if a Kayak style T-rescue with an open boat would be difficult, since the grab loops are very high up and probably out of reach. I have practised this style of rescue in a seakayak, but never in my canoe. I haven't tried it...

Mike, don't underestimate your skills, I am sure you would have been fine on the Middle, if not the Lower Moose. As far as those horror stories on the Boater Board of people almost drowning or otherwise getting killed are concerned, all this happened as far as I can tell on the Bottom Moose. Well, h...

Matt, My prelude has 2 small grab loops at the bow and stern, I tell swimmers to hold on to one of them while I get them to shore. One modification I will do over the winter is to attach loop of bungee cord to my stern deck, this will allow me to stoe a throw bag there. If you attach the loose end o...

Hi NZMatt and Martyn, Glad to ear you Guys had a good time on the Moose. Yes there are 2 Martin's up here in Canada paddling green Preludes, but we spell our names differently and there are some other differences like me having glasses, facial hair and a ponytail. Matt, thanks again for the glue inf...

boat names...
well, being from Canada and all, I think if I ever designed a boat I would choose different names, more like the "Wayne Gretzky", "Maurice Richard", 'Guy Lafleur" and so on....

C1 lap belt
Thanks for the pictures Matt, that's exactly what I tried to explain! As far as tightening the belt is concerned, I can tighten the one I recently installed in my Prelude so tight that I can virtually not lift my butt off the saddle any more. I can't say how tight it really is, as I have not yet dro...

Now you are only...

Thanks Matt, I will probably be able to source the glue here. Just out of curiosity, The 3M website claims that there is no special surface threatment, apart from degreasing, needed for this Acrylic adhesive to Work. Do you know why not? Thought you might know, since your research is in that field. ...
