prelude full of water!

so, i've got a question about my prelude, which i really like paddling! when i roll it comes up full of water, is that normal for that boat? i was thinking about lining the sides with some foam to try to minimize the gunwales from scooping water up. is that what is going on? it is literally almost f...

i like c-1ing!

i've finally started to get my ez to do what i want it to do! i can now do an onside low angle cartwheel (i paddle left and spin counterclockwise). i keep falling to my offside though when planting the stern on consecutive ends. any advice? and another thing, how do you initiate an offside cartwheel...

larry,
i glued some foam to the rear pillar to extend it into the pocket of the pedestal. i then put two bolts through the whole thing, it's solid.

it sounds to me like you are using quick release backpack buckles on your lap belt. you can make it more permanent by backing up those parts with what i call a tri glide. it is like a belt buckle kind of. it looks like a square with a divider. put that on the webbing then put your qr part where you ...

i'm 6'1", about 170 lbs. and use a variety of different paddles depending on the boat. apparently i like relatively long paddles too. i use a 56" in my c-1s and a 58" or predominately a 60" in my open boats. today i used a 58" in my test run of the prelude and it felt right.

i got to paddle the prelude on the animas town run today. first off, i fell out trying to get my feet on the pegs right off the bat. once i got that out of the way, i tried a roll. i got it up but was falling out of the boat. i'm going to put some thigh straps in it now. the bulkhead alone isn't eno...

oh, and thanks PAC for loading those pics. in the second one you can see what i am talking about. i pulled the extra foam and need to get the bow end of the saddle under the thwart.

i already love it! in setting up the knee cups on the bulkhead i noticed that the adjustable foot pegs were maxed out all the way forward. the saddle had a four inch piece of foam on the backrest! i took that off, and the one inch butt pad, so now it is about an 8" high saddle. back to the river wit...

i got the prelude wet at least today. i didn't get to make a run or anything, just a little eddy hopping nearby. i've never even seen this boat before yesterday so i can't compare the hull roundness. here are some pics after i cleaned her up to get ready for glueing in the bulkhead. if all goes well...

well, that boat is tiny! it looks like it will be fun though. i bought it on the spot since you guys will take it should i not like it. it is in incredible shape, nothing wrong with the hull at all, very few scratches even. i didn't get to paddle it today but bought some bags for it. i've got a litt...

prelude advise quickly!

so, not that i have room in the garage or anything but i think i've stumbled across a pyrhana prelude that is outfitted sans bags for the same price as others on this board are selling bare hulls. i paddle a dagger ovation, caption, and atom. i've got a ll remix 79 and my new baby the wavesport ez. ...
