Looks good.
One suggestion: get shorter bolts before you impale yourself

B-1? er, sorry: OB-1...
I'm embarrassed to say, I was sitting at work the other day looking at a stack of blue barrels and having the same Idea.

Re: ABS slurry on a Discovery?
I doubt that Discoveries are crosslink. They should be linear, and weldable. If anything has a chance of forming a strong bond, it would be G-flex, after flaming the poly surface. But I would look for a welder. You're right, my memory fails me... http://www.oldtowncanoe.com/craftsmanship/canoe_mate...

Re: ABS slurry on a Discovery?
I believe the Discos are crosslink- not very weldable. I can't imagine that ABS goo will work, doubt it will stick at all. Some sort of epoxy repair is probably the only option, aside from duct tape.

Bev's Skeeter was the first one I remember seeing. I guess that would have been around 2000, maybe a bit earlier.

Viper 12 rehab, part 2
Thanks again Bob, It really wasn't as bad as I imagined. I was sort of expecting something like the Gnarls' Detonator... Anyway, Several coats of goo and a wicked acetone induced headache later, the damaged bits in the chine are filled in. As are the cracks in the stern. Time to work on the big hole...

So I have this Viper...
About 75% ok, the other 25% needs a little work: http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f231/BobAnnWarren/Cboats/092_zps0739a6e2.jpg Big hole in the stern, cracks about 2 feet long, chines a little buggered up. But the price was right :D The plan is for it to end up as a tandem. Total budget for the proj...

lightweight, good chines, lower pricepoint than the plastic boats...
I thought that was the Rodeo? Though it lost a bit of the edge in the shortening process.

Re: Carrying gear on a Spanish Fly?
Just to hold a dry bag, you could glue down d-rings with weldwood (in the red can, of course...) and they will hold just fine.
