whats 400 cfs between friends :D still 2800 is the target and once you're past the lower medow confluence all bets are off on the flow anyway. I just found out if you run a creeky iron ring in the 200 cfs range some people boat litterally though (under) the iron ring sieve at the top of the drop. th...

1st of all it's deep so hang in for rolls (maybe not so much 2nd drop of lost paddle though)....I've run it down to 600 cfs VS 2800 cfs (standard release) and all the standard lines still go...except iron ring. Goodness is that iron ring can be the driest of the big six even at 2800 cfs. keep 2 hole...

Full, You better take this guy under your wing! :o well those are good reasons to possibly pass on the prelude perhaps, thx grumpy & Full. It seems the ledge might be easier too in the way of boating in 30 degee weather vs the SF (dryness/warmness). I seem to remember a really good paddler saying t...

Craig, i'm 165 lbs @ 5' 11" Are these all about the same to roll in difficulty? What's easier? decked ledge vs not the reports are the design is drier than other canoes.....the decks impove even that. It's really hard to quantify this extra dryness; Dooley or other racers if you were to hazard a gue...

after a little online looking I'm thinking the prelude and then the spanish fly for used market. Dooley I was looking at louie's suggestion of the Teaureau it seemed like a good creeker though visually I'm not so inspired as it leans a bit too kayak for me....I have the same moderately negative asth...

Agreed, I have had blinders on and now I'm opening my eyes for the first time. jscott you mentioned those models . Assumi...

canoe creeking 2011
I'm contemplating on moving off class 2+,3 and really trying to get a bullet proof roll this winter. All this leading to my ultimate goal of boating much harder. I do most everything with a bit of intensity so I hope my goals don't put anyone off. I like the idea of technical small tight creeks. Ult...

markzak, those shots are really cool. if I could slay it like that in a canoe I would and be happy to shout about it. why these guys throw so much junk at narls is beyond me, seriously. Some people drink whine coolers and others stumble over the stool from scotch, yet everyone has fun at the recepti...
