You don't need a receipt at REI, even if you're not a member.
They will take it back. If you're not a member, they will probably only give you store credit; but they sell Thule as well.
I love that store. They send me a fat rebate every year.

Left-handed; paddle right side in OC1 or C1.
Either side in raft or tandem.

I have some new air valves for my old Ryken "Chief" WW raft (14ft). Perhaps something like that would work. I have yet to get around to replacing them (8-9years) I will try to find them and see. I know valves are available for rafts; just don't know if they would work. You might try googling "air va...

"Does this look safe enough?"

No, I wouldn't do it.
Try stiffening your straps or use something that DOES break easily.
You should just be able to slip quickly into and out of your straps.

With front bulkhead removed; the pedestal needs to be pushed well forward to release it from the rear bulkhead. (6-8 inches) then it may be extracted, rear of the pedestal lifted out first and the front will follow. It is a tight fit, but will come out. On the 3 or 4 that I have worked on; I never e...

At minimum, you'll need a C1 specific skirt; I believe some old slalom skirts will fit the Atom.

Immersion Research semi-dry pants are very comfortable and dry.
High neoprene waist and neoprene ankle gaskets; perfect for those southern winters; no reason for those horrible latex ankle gaskets.
I think that I paid $120.00 for them and they are well made.
Hope this helps. PLEASE SEND RAIN !!!!!
