Re: Musings on why I still C1

After many years of picking dry lines in an OC1, I now like it wet in a C1.

Re: C1 conversion outfitting?

If you search you can see my H3:255 and Burn converstions. Mine sounds similar to Pierre's. But I have never used the fence rail thing, seems like it would add weight, just glue foam on the rail that came the boat, not glued to the floor. I then cut slots in the rail for the straps. The glued in kne...

Re: Skeeter in Colorado For Sale

Sold! This had to be one of the best condition Skeeters still around. The new owner is already loving it! Man, I hate parting with my old boats, but glad it going to be used again and bringing enjoyment to another fellow paddler!

Re: 6'6" 250lbs for a taureau?

Rainfoot, my experience was similiar to Berkshire Jacks. I moved from the Skeeter to the Taureau, both boats had bulk head ottfitting. For whatever the reason, the Skeeter was much easier to roll to me then then the Taureau. In my C1s (H3:255 and Burn), I have moved to supporting knee cups, straps a...

Re: 6'6" 250lbs for a taureau?

Sorry, it just wasen't my favorite boat for the reasons stated. The price is right, if it is in good condition. My only suggestion would be to check the chines for stress (whitish plastic) or cracks. And don't rub your thumb on the seam when rolling. :)

Re: 6'6" 250lbs for a taureau?

From my taureau owner experience, I would recommend you run away from that boat as fast as you can, unless you can get it dirt cheap. I found them to be poorly made (sheet formed plastic, not rotomolded), top heavy/hard to roll, ugly, and consistantly cut my thumb on that stupid seam. Everyone that ...

Re: Skeeter in Colorado For Sale

It's still available. I have had plenty of inquiries from folks, but no one has the ability to pick it up in Colorado.

Re: One Day in Colorado

Cheeks, III-IV in Colorado, first week of August, hmmm. As you might know, we are having a very bad water year. Here are the possibilities for that week, but nothing is for sure: Arkansas River - Numbers, Browns Canyon, Royal Gorge (III-III+ at low levels) North Fork of the South Platte - Foxton, Wa...

Re: Everest (or Burn) Cockpit Trimming Question

Silent Bob,

That isn't the finished product, that was just the start of a work in process. I better put up the final pic, cause it plush!

Re: Everest (or Burn) Cockpit Trimming Question

Marc, I hate how Pyranha did that did that cockpit combing, those notches and the dramatic drop from front to back. It is about the only thing I don't like about the boat. I filed and sanded out above my thighs and the back/sideback to make more room for my feet. I filed as deep as i could without c...
