Re: Pelican Canoe

Oh yeah Bochamp...next you'll tell me you are planning on running Lucifer's Anus in that baby! Now that would make for some good carnage video methinks! You've obviously never been to Gatineau Fest! People run through the meat of Lucifer's in worse than that! Think old flatwater canoes with n...

Re: Which drysuit?

Agree with most of the above...don't mess around with neoprene gaskets. You migth save some $ now but you'll regret it every time you're in the water... Where will you be taking your training? If you're in Ontario, I would guess that a month from now, many people in these parts will be out of their ...

Re: Local Drop - First Descent

AH! We were driving on the 50 and passed over the Lievre a couple of times this weekend and saw how much water was in it...wondered if there was something worth running in there. Is that drop the horizon line downstream of the highway?

Re: Red Airbags for an Option

I bought a couple of air bags from Mohawk last year (blue ones) and they've worked great.

Customer service was good, they were shipped quickly, etc.

Re: Recall of WSRI helmets: Trident and Moment

Just to clarify, there was a comment earlier in this thread that indicated that there were ten 'injuries' due to helmet buckle malfunctions. Thats not correct, its 'incidents'. Sorry - my mistake, I misread the notice. Smurfwarrior is correct - no injuries have been reported, only incidents of the ...

Recall of WSRI helmets: Trident and Moment

An FYI from north of the border, but this affects all WSRI Moment and Trident helmets sold between April and July 2012 in Canada, and March and November 2012 in the US. Faulty chinstraps. 10 injuries in the US, none in Canada. You guys are buckling up your chinstraps down there, right? More i...

Re: PFD Reccomendations

All of the above sounds about right. Fit and flotation are most important in my opinion. Kokatat has a new vest just coming out, the Maximus Prime. It has gotten solid reviews and could be worth a look (has anybody here used one or even tried one on?). One other thing to keep in mind is the importan...

Re: Warm Feet

Some very useful tips and tricks above there. Looking forward to trying them out. I've paddled down to -8 C, and I've found that if its cold enough, it may be impossible to keep your feet warm. But on the bright side I've never heard of anybody getting frostbite or some other serious cold-related in...

Re: Spring Paddling!

At the 2:30 mark, you could have done a way better job of t-boning that kayaker. You really let him off the hook.

The only other thing I noticed is that you could probably use a bit more tilt when you're carving.

I guess we're the only ones kicking around this forum rather than paddling at ALF...

Any idea how long Upper Balls Falls (great name) runs? That looks like a heck of a cold and painful nasal enema waiting to happen...
