Re: Very sorry to hear this news from yesterday at ALF
I'm sure more details will be forthcoming, for now I think the family should have their time. A bunch of us were there and I can say, having just watched someone die on the river, that I hope I never have to do that again. The rescue effort was heroic, and that goes for everyone involved. A few of t...

Hey Red,
This is Cheeks, the open boater you met today at the Nanty. That absolutely sucks and I'll send this to some friends in the area.

Re: Boat of the Week - Esquif L'Edge
It's truly a great boat, almost too forgiving. I have consciously thought a few times over the past couple of years, "I feel I shouldn't 've gotten away with that..." ^^This^^ There have been times with the Option, especially coming from an edgier boat - Viper 11 - where I say to myself, "he||fire,...

Re: High Falls @ Rochester, NY
The problem with it, and it's the same problem for all the major falls on the Genesee, is that the gradient comes from the Niagara escarpment, so the geological makeup is pretty similar to Niagara. The rock is very shale-y and of crappy quality, and breaks away, leaving a lot of debris at the bottom...

Re: High Falls @ Rochester, NY
If anyone has run them, it would have been Danny Doran, he's the local sh!trunner up that way. He got the 1st D on Lower Falls of the Letchworth Gorge (same river about 70 miles south)

Re: KNeals / NBoP / CBoats Armada... whatever you call it...
Stoneycreek is probably the best river just for the Armada's sake, it has some pretty amazing play features. But unless you get enough rain for the Paint and Shade to run, you're pretty much stuck on the Stoney. Cheat has a lot of options, but the Canyon is a long and potentially hard day. If you en...

It is that long
The day after ALF til after Memorial Day. Luckily, the bodacious people over in Germany such as Insolence and Jan are going above and beyond the call to help me get to Bern with gear, so it's going to make for a great trip

Just FYI, you can message Jeremy on Facebook, or any of his team members. I've found them to be pretty open and honest about the capabilities of the boat.

Re: ALF 2013 - March 10th-17th
Awesome, I can't wait to meet everyone. A large contingent of us will be staying at Sweetwater KOA, at least after the Tellico Race. So unless something changes, Sweetwater will be the place to stay, and Shoney's will be the place to meet.

Re: How 'bout cboat Armada dates?
Cheat Canyon is a long day for people who are gonna swim a lot, but it is totally central. It's all moot to me, I'm going to be in Europe going to their Armada. Hope y'all have fun and boof the crap out of anything and everything
