Here is a non-sponser oriented reply: Try this page. http://www.biothinking.com/big.htm Its a candid comparsion of kayaks for bigger guys ,that can be conveted into C1. Might be a help. You can also go to kayak.com and use their comparsion page. Its a huge listing of size, shape, volume etc. with comm...

Been there, had that.. it took mine about 8 months to heal,,just slowly got better and finally went away,, Its was in mycase important to stop repeating the same motions over and over that aggravated it. I switched sides ( righty to a lefty) and that helped a lot. switched hands under water when i h...

Beereddy , you are correct. Smerda, your the one that's wrong and here's the proof of it. A person that has no boating expreience AT ALL can strap themselves in a boat and survive a big drop. This cannot be said of running the Green, Gauley, or other difficult runs. So What does it prove? Nothing. I...

A Mohawk Viper 11 is between the Ocoee and Rival in performance and has good initial stability. Yey it will carve very well too. I believe the Mohawk serires of boats are a good bit less expensive than the Esquif's as well. . However, mohawks production have had internal problems as of late. Maybe t...

If you go with the Spanish fly, I reccommend getting a used one in good condition that was produced by Pyranha. If Esquif intends on produceing rotomolded products themselves rather than contract them out form Pyranhas' production facility, its a hard process to get right. Just ask Jackson kayaks. E...

I agree spend money locally as much as possible. Local merchants bank and spend their money locally as well. Money I spend at Home depot ends up in the hands of investors and the Chinese. Ever notice when you start walking toward a HD or Lowes employee to ask them a question they disappear before yo...

True, and if you can get one , a Mohawk boat is a lot cheaper and just as tough as the mad River or Esquif boats that are Royalex. The group I creek with use just about every type of boat / manufacturer out there and we have a blast in all of them. You can carry a lot of gear in the xl boats series ...

I've been to Europe and can tell you that Whitewater slalom has vastly more support than in the states , Especially in Slovakia and Germany. More support and more money means better training and more revenue for the governing bodies. I imagine the USACK is doing the best they can with what they have...
