Re: t-formex

Well, I'm with magicmike, and think it should not be a big secret. What's the point, it's proprietary Right? You would think esquif would release info comparing its superiority to royalex And building public confidence in this wonder material. I've heard esquif approached Several canoe mfg's to preo...

Re: Cracked Taureau

bummer for sure. Esquif has been notorious for putting product on the market before
getting their product material homework done, although the reps i met have been great.
This has left some of their customers out to dry.

Re: Width and Stability (good article)

Stability is overwhelming governed by the physical size And weight distribution of the paddler. A 5'6" , 150 lb paddler will feel completely differently in A certain c1 compared to a 6'1" 230 lb paddler Who is in the same c1. Especially if he is large Chested / weight higher , where his power is gen...

Re: T-Formex, the next generation of ABS

I hope T-formex is a great material for ww canoeing. We need it for sure . Im curious if Esquif has all the process down solid, R & D tested, why are they waiting till next year ? Have any canoes been made of this material and put to a long tough test yet? The press release sounded like its a sure t...

Thats a good looking C1. I paddled one years ago and it was surprisingly fast. I believe Andy Brdige originally designed
it. . Do you own the mold ?

Re: Wet suit vs dry suit

+1 on all the above. But there a few more considerations A wet suit gives superior protection against Bruising and cuts. Stuntmen wear them all the time. . You can walk through briars Etc without worry. No maintenance . They also float giving you practically Another PFD strapped to you body. And the...

Re: Conversions and knee spread

Give the new Mamba 8.6 creek boat a try. I think you'll find it's. a great fit. And it's 27.75 in wide.

I'd say the waved port Z is pretty close having
The same feel. I think the superfun is quicker
Handling overall.

Re: Couldn't wait for phiend any longer

Took the SF out today. I made the right choice.
Local rains brought up a small creek and found
A small wave to mess around a little. 360's with
A stern squirt exit. Nice

Better to say dryer than I had expected.
I was bemoaning not getting a blow
Molded Phiend but now think the SF is
Going to be More playful / fun . Thanks!

Couldn't wait for phiend any longer

Picked up a used Spanish fly and I have to say It's a pretty cool boat. At 60 I feel comfortable Quickly. I'm amazed how dry it is. The bags are a little ratty, Does anyone know if the air bags for this Canoe are specific to this design? They seem pretty small. Are there any nose guards available ? ...
