Re: Big Waterfall Running with critical thinking
I really like the cutting foam plugs out idea. Last spring I had a real nice boof on a 15 footer and my back was sore for a week from landing too flat

Up high near the deck a big knot thru a washer on the inside should be fine (just my thought) edit; drill holes insert rope, cord/webbing thru hole and thru washer on inside tie a knot. r...

Re: Thinking in advance--next boat for me?
Hey Deb, A composite boat by Kaz can withstand most punishment you can dish out , they are not too hard to fix if you need to. I want a light creek boat for those carry in runs like the upper pemi or the Dry, etc...

Re: Tallulah releases, USGS
Gone are the days of drive there and hope for water. With so many gages being cut (all over) is there a way to keep some of them "up" maybe with just the occasional "tweaking" that seems to cost an arm and a leg? I know that many (paddlers and fishermen) rely on gages to plan on trips and local busi...

Re: Need so outfitting help
If you can't have a spotter to watch from shore you can do this; Take your boat with saddle unatatched, a pencil, and a bailer down to the shore of any small body of water big enough to float in. Put saddle roughly where you think it should be. Kneel on saddle while floating in canoe. Use bailer to ...

Re: ARF - Northeast Canoe Gathering (3 day event)
Adam, Go to the put in, drop your boat and gear near the stairs (off to the side) about 9:15 /9:30 then drive downstream to take out at picnic area. Park, then walk up driveway and hitch a ride back to put in. I've never made it to the top of picnic area driveway without getting a ride. This will be...

Re: What New/Used boat
Octane is 70 lbs +/-. I think you are a candidate for a Millbrook Big boy (Fat boy) or similar. Just don't take it down a slightly lubricated mountainside gully and you'll be very happy

Re: Higher Octane -my 1st foam foray
There is a chance that you may have to carve out some knee area foam for proper boat trim and knee/leg fit so make sure you can still adjust forward if needed

Re: Extreme discomfort in l'edge
It may be a saddle trimming issue. Does the saddle need to be shaved away where it contacts the inner part of your thighs? It made a difference for me but did not eliminate the issue entirely. I paddle a different boat but I know that feeling

A bit big for her, but it may be ok for tandem? An Outrage would be a great boat for her if you can get one
