Re: Upper Yough- 1970
... other leftie is Tom Irwin. The boats were designed by Pavel Bone for 1970, the last year for 80cm boats. I had one for racing but was using my old Yugo II for the Upper Yough. Ted Waddel is the photographer who appears briefly about 2/3 thru the film. The photographer perched out on a rock just ...

... "slalomboat", so I´m looking for its modell name. Can you name it ? There is a very faded sign on the inside that says something like "Modell: Yugo". The only character that I think I can identify for shure is the "G" in the middle... Thanks for all hints! Cheers Frank http://www.singletrailz.eu/riverrunner/slalom_rheinsheim/boot1.jpg ...

Clearing up a couple of things
... it to win the 1978 OC Nationals and for several years thereafter. Now, as to a truly revolutionary design, I will nominate the original Natan [or Yugo] C-1. This was designed by Natan Bernot of Yugoslavia in 1961 and molded by David Kurtz and his Post 32 Explorer Scouts in State College, PA. It ...

Thank you!
Thank you for all the great images! I'm going to guess that it's a Natan C1 -2 (or Yugo 2), but anyone with Sue Taft's book (I can't recall who I loaned my copy too!) should be able to tell if it's the same boat she has a picture of Dave Kurtz in or not.... If I ...

Hmmm
If the ends are higher, it may indeed be an early Hahn. I'd certainly like to see (and have:) an image of it...
If it's not a Hahn, perhaps a Lettman or Natan (aka Yugo)?

Recovering from surgery
Recovering from surgery by Mike I've never posted here before, this is the best paddling site I've seen. Have a Yugo II, modified Hahn and Max II in my past, now an open boater, BUT I had a 3 level spinal fusion last may L4 to S1 and the Doc and PT types tell me what I shouldn't ...

... of C-boating in the US by DaveM Not exactly sure when C-boating was invented, but we were lucky enough to have the first (mass produced) C-1 (the Yugo) in the US at the Concordia. Dave Guss (Legend!) brought the boat with him for everyone to take a spin in. Take a look at the Pic Gallery on the ...

How about a Mendesta? Comments?
... I remember Roger Parsons, but I'm drawing a blank on the boat. At that time, the Europeans had all of the state of the art designs (except the Yugo boats that were designed by Natan Bernot that were built here) so it was probably a design that was brought back from the 65 Worlds. I'll ask around. ...

The Yugo strikes again
Friday afternoon around 1:30 or so and after everyone had taken there spins in the Yugo1, I noticed Dave Guss paddling up the river towards the chutes in the mythical craft. Later, as he was loading his boats into his truck, he told us the following tale. As it turns ...
