Re: River Elf Storm Chaser
... a "stock" C-2. My husband weighs about 190 lbs and I weigh 115 lbs. We are a bit unusual in that John paddles bow and I paddle stern. We built 2 Gemini C-2s (Steve Chamberlain design - mold from PCC) in the 1980s, followed by a Savage Grok Shark, then Whoopatar both built by Andy Bridge. We are ...

... that had self adhesive and it really stuck to the Royalex. Might still be on there--I'm not sure because I sold the boat. It's interesting that Gemini lists polyethylene as one of the materials its skid plates will stick to.

... see what buying raw materials will cost. I'm not excited about the "rigid" repair, but G-flex looks like it would be expensive. Rec Repair (now "Gemini Materials" - http://geminimaterials.com/patch-n-protect/skid-plates" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) appears to be a peel and ...

Re: Covered Canoe 1 man - $200 (Saratoga Springs, NY)
I do believe it is a cut down Gemini - the next question is... by whom, and how many were made? I'm thinking backyard job (not putting that down!) with a mold pulled off the plug to pop out a few boats. BUT, it could have been a production ...

Re: Covered Canoe 1 man - $200 (Saratoga Springs, NY)
Current owner's impression is that it is the "Little Gem" in that it is the front and back halves of the Gemini C2 with the middle cut out. Looks that way too, actually. Not sure if it was a one-off or not - might be low production (cut the boat down, pull a crude mold, make ...

Re: any c-2's for sale out there?
I would say early 70s vintage rather than 80s. Center-cockpit C-2s had already come on strong in the mid-70s with the Gemini series. Late 70s into the early 80s the Paramax & ParamaxII were the dominant C-2s. By the 83' race season newer C-2s like the Torrent (followed by the TorrentXL ...

Re: Can someone school me on WW canoes please
... to go with a canoe, I would select one that is outfitted in such a way that the paddling stations are relatively close together in the so-called Gemini position. You would like to be able to get your paddle blade in front of the boat's pivot point from the stern paddling position so that you ...
