Well...

Usually I don't think you would want to just "clone" a boat! I mean really what fun is that! You want your design to meet your special wants, need and desires! 8) So you might take an existing design and modify to improve it (hopefully) or tweak it to make it function differently (you'll read about ...

I have not seen or heard of one as a C but the reports I have heard from the kayakers make it sound like it might be worth a try! Let us know how it goes! :-)

Ronnie Where are you located - I'm sure someone off this forum is close enough to help you out! :) As for the helmet - man this is a tough one! I've been looking very hard for the last two weeks and have yet to find the "ultimate" helmet for me. I'm looking for a helmet that is composite with a good...

Viking paddle aficionados....

I was talking to Keith Backlund this weekend and he told me he is on the verge of releasing a paddle that is “very” similar to the Viking paddles some of us hold so dearly. We talked for some time on paddle design and C boaters issues with "flutter", weight, flex, etc. This guy really knows his stuf...

Update.....

I talked to Joel and others up in Ohiopyle and the HD1 that WAS up against the shed was an actual HD1 boat, not a mold. That boat however, is no longer around - I also went out and looked about for it in the "discarded" boat piles in town, but with no luck! But all is not lost in your quest - the ru...

Thanks to all....

Thanks folks for all the interest, thoughts, and input regarding helmets. Upon review of my helmet yesterday I’m definitely in the market for a new one - after last weekends “experience”. When I got off the river last weekend I had looked at the helmet and everything looked ok with it (or at least t...

OK..

I'll stop in and talk to Joel next weekend (if I remember). FYI he purchased Mountain Streams so he is a tad busy these days running both operations.
I also know the shed so I'll poke around there too.
If I hear of anything I'll let you know.

Helmet vs grey matter....

This Sunday on my weekly pilgrimage to the Lower Yough I had an interesting experience that I want to share, but not re-live. While at Swimmers rapid (no line as usual for a Sunday afternoon 8) ) I was doing the usual surf/play thing. While I was transitioning from a front to a back surf, in the mid...

If you can let me know about the "details" around the rumor and I'll try to scrap up some facts. Any details on the HD1 would aid in my inquiries as well!

Well...

Any roll that gets you O2 is a good roll. As for the "back deck roll" - my thoughts are if it works - use it. As for exposure to the face I wonder how other rolls expose the base of your spine (between your helmet and PFD) - Now that is truly scary. Or your head - helmets are good but are they that ...
