Re: Nova Craft Ocoee Opinions

I bought a Nova Craft Ocoee canoe and that's right the boat was pretty narrow, but Echo Paddle put me somw wood gunwale and put the original size and the boat is very sweet now on water. I have also a Mike Yee outfitting and that's very nice too. I have also heard good things about the Echoee. Guy ...

Re: Nova Craft Ocoee Opinions

It is narrower. They cut the thwarts much too short and it makes for a significantly less stable boat. In my opinion it is not nearly as nice to paddle. The hull shape has been changed by the thwart change, because the mold is the same, but the thwarts are shorter. This results in the walls of the h...

Re: C1 single pull skirt and thigh strap release.

Hey Guys, Both of these posts are awesome, I particularly liked the video. Do you think this system would work with a lap-belt just by attaching the quick-release into the bungie/paracord set up? I don't have my boat with me right now to check, but I'm thinking that if the belt is oriented with the ...

Re: Looking for harmony or other float bags for a ledge.

Sorry just to clarify I am not looking for a custom set, but just a set that will fit the ledge well (ie 48 inch harmony bags). I was seeing if anyone had a used set in good condition so I could save a bit of cash

Re: Any reason to not use these ratchets for thigh straps?

I was originally asking about using both in combination in order to create a thigh strap, along with some webbing and a separate quick release for the whole system.

Any reason to not use these ratchets for thigh straps?

I'm thinking of putting these into my C1 Conversion as a way to get things to go and stay tighter. They are marketed as replacement ratchet straps for a backband , but I think they will do the job. People have told me to use old snowboard binding ratchets but these seem like a cheap and available op...

Re: Whitewater Rating System - Is It OK As Is?

A rating system that can be objective and applied universally to all rapids (of differing volumes, temperature, steepness, and with beds of different kinds of rock) and that will be useful by all paddlers (open boaters, kayakers and C1ers, rafters...) is impossible. What we have is imperfect, but it...
