Re: Checking in after long absence...

Scott: The Dynamic, usually built as the slightly modified Super Dynamic, was the competing boat design from Davey Hearn the same year that Jon Lugill and Adam Clawson designed the Zealot. It's my understanding that the designs are similar and became more so when, shortly after the first few boats c...

Re: Pool Sessions: Chlorine and Paddling Gear

I don't know whether it's necessary or not, but I've always rinsed my spray skirt & PFD in the shower afterwards as I was advised to do so many years ago to avoid chlorine degradation.

At the very least it gives you an excuse to stand in a hot shower a little longer after pool sessions!

Re: CBoats UPGRADES COMPLETE

You can look just above the "Last Post" column & click "Mark topics read". That will un-highlight every topic in that forum. I think it's a pretty cool feature. Sometimes I don't have time to read everything that I want to, so now the unread topics stay highlighted. Now when I return, I can still t...

Re: CBoats UPGRADES COMPLETE

Kenneth: Thanks for all the work on the upgrade! I have noticed one difference: Previously, if left unread, threads with new posts would not retain their "new post highlighting" after logging off and then returning several hours later. Now it seems that threads with unread posts are perpetually high...

[The hypothesis that I think TNbound and I are both working under is that the rocker profile of the Option will allow you to shift your weight back, raising the bow out of the water, making it easier for current differential on the stern to spin the boat. From my reading on the Shaman, I think the ...

There are two primary reasons for torso rotation: 1) Rotation of your onside shoulder forward facilitates planting the catch as far forward as possible to lengthen the early (and most effective) portion of your stroke, while reducing the tendency of the bow to "bob" up and down (as compared to simpl...

Galasport Loco C-1 (for solo slalom)
Torrent XL C-2 (for tandem slalom)
Millbrook Boats Hooter OC-1 (for most river running; my knees & ankles don't last long anymore in C-1)

I really believe it would be helpful, if the overriding ACA rules would recommend that those experienced should stay out of recreational level classes. Or even BETTER begin to enforce a top level structure (Experienced, Pro, or RACE) for these guys to only complete in. In this manner a beginner cou...

I believe that Martikan and Estanguet are dropping their upstream edge coming into gate 11 in order to load the stern and set-up a slight stern pivot into and out of 11. It doesn't appear to me to be related to the line that they are taking from gate 10 across the jet. In fact, they don't come off t...
