He ended up okay which is important but what do you guys think about the rescue technique, response time, ect. It's kind of hard to see with that dang rock in the way.

The summer camp I worked at puts 10-15 year old kids in Mohawk Probe 14's. We start them on the lake and depending on how quickly they learn we have a shot at getting them out on French Broad 9 by the end of the 3-week session. I would ask around and see what others think. =\

All the other factors listed above play an incredible roll in comfort. One thing you can try is to get out and stretch 20 minutes into your trip if you have the opportunity. Get back in and you might find you can go a lot longer feeling comfortable that if you waited until you couldn't stand it ...
