Welcome to the light. 8)
Thanks!
I'm in Shelby, NC and the only person I know that canoes near me and has been my mentor since learning to kayak is Dennis Huntley.

Just bought my first canoe

So I've been kayaking for 4 years now and have started to loose interest unless I'm running class 4/5 creeks that seem to never run because of lack of rain. I'm not going to quit kayaking, but tried a friend of mines open canoe at the whitewater center a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. It's way differ...

Question about canoe length vs maxium weight limit

Long story short, i've got a friend of mine thinking about buying his first WW canoe. He's done some canoeing in the past, but never WW. My question is, I've never seen weight limits on canoes like you do when looking at kayaks. What kind of weight limits do WW canoes have? What length canoe should ...

Re: everest Vs Stomper

Ok let me try this again I want a boat that has more primary stability than my remix (most likely supplied by a flat hull with or with out edges) that will not get back endeared is there any one who actually spent time in both a remix and a stomper I suggest looking at the new Mamba or a Burn. If y...

Re: everest Vs Stomper

Don't quote me on this, but i think the Stomper has less of an edge then the Remix does. I have no experience with an Everest though. I suggest asking your question on boatertalk.com I believe the Everest is more of a camping river runner with tons of extra volume for storage and the Stomper is the ...

Re: Bought a canoe, but need help figuring out paddle sizes

I bought the S12 and i read on SOAR's website they do sell a 3 piece paddle set for their SOAR's. Can be made into two 60 inch canoe paddles or one 7 and a half foot long kayak paddle. I'll do some more research on this unless anyone on here that has paddled a SOAR can chime in with some advice. Tha...

Re: Bought a canoe, but need help figuring out paddle sizes

Good info so far! Thanks guys! As far as what boat i bought, i ended up ordering a SOAR. I really looked at a lot of different hard shell canoes, but felt like for being my first canoe and just starting out with my 9 year old son and wife who have no experience either the SOAR was our best bet for b...

I'm having some trouble tring to figure out what size canoe paddles to order as i've never paddled a canoe before so don't have any idea what sizes to get? Re: Stomper 90 or Remix 79?

I am looking to get a new decked boat, for both creeking and multi day trips. Due to various reasons I am pretty much set on Liquidlogic for that. The problem is, I have to order blind, i.e. without being able to test drive first, I am looking for some feedback, hopefully someone has paddled them b...

Re: How much rocker should a WW canoe have for class 2 - eas

I think i have found the perfect do it all canoe plus seats that i'm wanting. Been doing a lot of research and came across the SOAR inflatable canoes. Anyone on here have experience with these? They look to be very easy, forgiving, and can paddle anything from flat water up to class IV WW with no pr...

Re: How much rocker should a WW canoe have for class 2 - eas

Ok, sounds like i need to pick a canoe that can do class 2's and some 3's outfitted like i want. Then if i progress and get good enough to jump into hard 3's and 4's i'll have to break down and buy another canoe. And yes, you can buy kayaks that can do everything from class 2 up to class 6 stuff if ...
