Nice work Paul. We wanted to make it to the Riversport race but we just had too much going last month. It is always fun to see an old boat get the TLC that it deserves.

What if you only have one boat?

At this point it is my stinkeye if solo or my novacraft prospector if I am transporting my 3 year old (she wants her own boat). Not hard choices when you only have the two but a nice pair if limited to only two.

I'm sure that Mikey B will chime in here but he did design and build the STINKEYE. I built one with help from Mikey and Millbrook is going to be making a composite version soon. I'm not sure if Mikey is still open to distributing plans as he didn't want to undermine sales for Kaz.

Nice video guys. There are too few of these kind of comparisons done like this and it is great to see. I can also agree that it would make a nice teaching/self learning clip.

Great work

I am by no means an exert on this but I'll give you what I know, or some of the most useful parts anyway. First, making a composite boat from another existing boat without permission from the person/company that holds the rights is stealing and not a cool thing. It is possible to use a boat as a mol...

Ok, so I like the urban camo, very nice.

It would almost disappear on those night runs. It would be really fun on haloween, you could be the boatless paddler.

And you nearly had me sold on Brown (with rainbow metal flake).

Having slept on it I'm feeling a bit of a disco grove.

Brown with rainbow metal flake, that would be unique and truly hard to sell. Or maybe not. Metal flake makes everything better.

YES!!!! Brown would be sooooo cool. Ok, so it might not be a great seller but it would be distinctive  .

Likely not a good business decision but for the two people who do buy one, VERY unique.

AND........ there are likely to be some great deals....

Color choices are overrated. I am more interested in the deal I can get than the color of the boat. I guess that a really ugly color would be a detractor but not much of one for me. Then again, I could not decide what color to paint my Stinkeye so I just didn't paint it. I guess that I don't care as...

I'd say Purple but there are a lot of purple WW boats out there.

How about a nice COBALT

Yeah, I agree with Logboatin, if your Maxum is in basically the same condition as it was for Dog Days then it can be saved. If you need help, we can put some Kevlar on the ends, inside and out, to repair the dents/holes and then a set of wooden gunwales and the Maxum will be serviceable again. We co...

Ok, we need details (and pics) of the death of the Maxum.

How dead is it?

Will it make a nice planter or beer tub?

Would it make a good funeral boat to be burned at sea?

If it helps at all, here are my impressions as a sub-rank amateur canoe slalom racer who attended the Dog Days race and practice day (I didn't race, I drew the short straw so I kid chased wile my wife raced). The Dog Days race was a fun event and for the most part every class was open to the "run wh...

Thank You

Thanks for the compliments but the real credit goes to Mikey, he really hit it out of the park with the design. I'm still loving my little wood strip boat and getting good feedback from everyone that paddles it. It turns out that Tommy (FullGnarlzOC) fits perfectly into my saddle. This is maybe a bi...
