Re: Nolan Whitesell Niagara Gorge

Wasn't there only a second or two of footage on the Canoe Movie extras?

Re: Dagger Atom $350 OBO

Here the photos again. Sorry, I didn't realize the old photo links were broken. The boat is C1, not converted to K1. (Did anyone do that? I've never heard of converting an Atom to K1.) I can throw in the skirt that I use. But it fits so tightly that it's inconvenient. You will want to get a new/used...

Re: C-1 "listing" or leaning to onside(?)

I certainly tend to favor my onside in the Atom. Sometimes it gets me in trouble though. I have to make a conscious effort to flatten out or lean the other way when required. Otherwise the onside edge will dip too low and I'll have to do some sudden bracing.

Re: Royalex is dead?

I thought the problem with Twintex was that it's difficult to repair.

(Einar, kudos on firing up Staircase! Wish I had been there this year.)

Re: Royalex is dead?

Maybe the long boats will live on as Royalite (R84)? Or is that produced by the same company?

Re: Pumps

As a total dork, I actually really enjoy this thread. The discussion on pumps touches upon all sorts of interesting padding philosophy issues. Like, why do we canoe rather than kayak? What's the difference between OC1 and C1? And, if I can't feel my feet, are they still there? And if folks start ran...

Re: Pumps

The no-pump faction seems to think that pumps are some terribly difficult magic. In reality they don't empty water all that fast. At least in my experience. At best, my pump gives me the convenience of being able to trickle out some bilgewater after a big rapid while paddling to keep up with my kaya...

Dagger Atom $350 OBO

Hull is in good shape. Some scratches. No oil canning. Outfitting includes hip pads. This boat is in Washington State (near Portland). pics: https://www.dropbox.com/s/svi3mx29jj9rxhs/atom%201.jpeg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; https://www.dropbox.com/s/jlczt8klfd79ks5/atom%202.jpeg"...

Re: DIY breakdown paddle

Button hole popper thing? Why, sir, I'm sure you intended to write "Quick-Release Button Connector for Telescoping Tubing." I found one those after a long quest inside a magic volcano. Just looking for the tubing now. Maybe I'll look at a cheap breakdown to cannibalize. Thanks for the tip!

Re: DIY breakdown paddle

Thread resurrection.

So now all I want is a short length of aluminum tubing with an OUTER diameter of 1.062".

Couldn't find it on http://www.mcmaster.com. Any suggestions?
