Anyone have a Vertige (not the X) in good shape that you're looking to unload? I'm in VA.

Re: Question re. Royalex deterioration over many years
I just picked up a '98 Ovation and drilled the hull for airbag lacing. The Royalex didn't seem any different where I was drilling than it does on newer hulls I've drilled.

Re: Mohawk XL-12 Information?
That was my first ww boat, but I didn't have it long. I never felt comfortable in the boat. Primary/secondary stability for me wasn't good. I never felt I could relax in the boat. I was probably too heavy for it - 200 -210 lbs.

Re: Options for younger developing Open Boaters
My son moved to a Probe 12 as his first OC1 when around 11-12 years old. He likes it, but for the class II stuff we do, he was worn out I think mainly due to the size/weight of the boat. I picked up a Mohawk Rodeo this spring, and he loves it (now at 13). The Probe doesn't get much use now. The Rode...

Re: Newbie
3rd on Coastals. You'll find folks of all skill levels there. You might also want to sign up for the Virginia Paddlers Yahoo group list which is basically a bunch of folks that paddle class I/II+ stuff. Many are Coastals also.

Re: Wanted: Mohawk Probe 11 or similar
Thanks for the info. I have a Probe 12, but was hoping for something a little smaller for my son. Anyway, I'm looking at another Probe 12 this weekend for him.

Wanted: Mohawk Probe 11 or similar
Looking for a Probe 11 (or something a beginner can learn with that's similarly sized) for my almost teenage son who wants to get into open boating. I'm not interested in anything that's had major repair work. I'm located in central Virginia.
Let me know what you've got.
