Old School...........

Perception HD-1.jpg
Perception 5.JPG
A like new condition, rarely used Perception HD-1.
Found in an old, unused garage, where it had been stored for many, many years.

Found it in the rafters.............

Found it in the rafters of an old shed, where it had been stored for past 4 years. Near new condition; prior to storage it was very seldom used, hull is barely scratched. Photo taken after being sprayed with garden hose & sponged off. Not offered for sale........... Just an example of what is squirr...

(Delete; boat found).

Looking for older Mad River royalex version, not newer composite model by Millbrook. No concern about whether it's outfitted or not, but some outfitting would be good. Major concern is boat condition; not looking for repair/restoration project. If it's been wrapped or patched, I have no interest. Wi...

Re: Question re. Royalex deterioration over many years

I don't know; maybe I'm just lucky? My Whitesell Piranha, the Mad River Flashback, and the Perception HD 1 that I've previously owned, are certainly old school Royalex. I never had any issues with any of them. I know the Flashback is used regularly; still no issues. Don't know about the HD 1, but th...

Re: How much is a Whitesell Piranha in excellent shape worth

My Whitesell Piranha.jpg Somewhat difficult question to answer............ Bought mine for $300.00, and considered myself "extremely" lucky.I would have given $550.00 for it & never given it another minutes thought. Didn't even try to bargain with owner. Boat was in like new condition; had been use...

Re: Wanted: Whitesell Descender

No, I never found a Descender.
Quit looking for one.
Make do with Piranha when needed, which grows more seldom.
Would delete original post if I knew how?

Thanks.

Re: Mad River Screamer - Information seeking

Mad River Screamer on sawhorses. Old school, downriver racer; designed by Jim Henry, and last made in 1984. Information was received from another source. This canoe was raced, but spent most of it's life in storage. It needs a little cosmetic work, where close encounters with boulders were made, and...

Re: Whitesell Descender

Thanks for the heads up on the Descender Bob.

Update: Seller actually has 2 Descenders, but according to email I received from seller, deals for both of them are going down either tonight or tomorrow.

I give up; it's not that important to me anymore.

Re: Whitesell Descender

Looks like a Piranha to me; not a Descender.
Have made attempt to contact seller for clarification.

Descender would be a little shorter & lighter; that's what I need.
Have never ever seen a Whitesell Whirlwind..........

Thanks for the head up.

Re: Whitesell Descender

Bob Wiggins; Thanks for the "heads up" on the Descender.

Sounds as if there is some local interest in the boat, but I will still make an effort to contact the boat's owner today to "check it out".
Even if boat has been sold; he might be able to offer another lead.

Have sent PM to you.
