Re: 2012 NBoP Armada.. on the Cheat Roll Call...
If there are specific Blackfly boats you want to demo at the Armada, please message me or shoot me an email at mzakutan at gmail dot com. If there are a lot of folks who want to demo the same model, I just want to plan accordingly. I'll be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday and looking forward to the...

Re: Electric pumps can be handy...
I suggest contacting Esquif as an FYI and in the off chance that the manufacturer thinks that the crack was due to a defect. Send them the boat serial number. They may be willing to work with you. The question is whether cracked boats are because of a manufacturers defect or simply the way that the ...

Re: OCTANE REVIEWS ANYONE? Octane vs l'Edge?
A lot of people also owe me beer for ferrying them around the river in the OCtane 92 to get their boat/gear after swimming out of their own boats. The tandem makes a great "rescue" vessel.

Re: OCTANE REVIEWS ANYONE? Octane vs l'Edge?
Here's the Vimeo link to the tandem run off of LeMance Falls. Paddlers: markzak and rodeoclown https://vimeo.com/38847658 Blackfly Canoes is working on an OCtane Edit to highlight the boat as we put it through its paces at ALF. Almost needless to say that the OCtane 92 (tandem) is a total game-chang...

Did you ask Esquif already if they have a trailer and could bring it down for you? I know that they had a trailer of boats last year.

Re: Octane
Having paddled the prototype tandem (Octane 92), I will honestly say that this tandem boat is the most fun I have ever had on the water. That's a big statement and I'm confidently standing behind it. Think about how much fun the Blackfly Ion is and then add the multiplier of having a friend in the b...

Re: Older fast boats! Pics!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFO! I got the boats from Jerry McAward, who is the owner of the Northeast PA kayak school and Jim Thorpe River Adventures. I can ask him about the history more if anyone is interested. He lives in Weisport, PA on the Lehigh River. Both boats are in excellent condition and...

Re: Older fast boats! Pics!!!
I'm most excited about getting the C1 on the water. The hull is sound on that boat and its ready for the water other than the outfitting. The C2 has one area that needs work on the bottom and will need all new outfitting and bulkheads and some work to re-enforce an area towards the stern that is all...

Older fast boats! Pics!!!
I recently welcomed these two boats to my collection! The C2 looks to have originally been built with offset cockpits and have since been centered. It also has an '81 team trials sticker. The C1 looks to be slightly more recently built than 1981. Neither seem to have any other identifying tags. If y...

Re: smoothing minicell
If its not smooth enough using just sandpaper, why not just epoxy over the foam, sand that smooth and paint over that.
