For C-1 I am really liking my new G-Power. http://gpower.itm-system.com/ The paddle I have is not listed on their website since it is a very new design. The blade is similar to the Galasport 3M but with a slight forward angle like the TE5 and the whole thing is one piece--the blade and shaft are man...

The Zaveral (ZRE) Power Curve is really nice but also rather delicate.

I have a feeling your best bet will be to just try to meet up with other c-1 paddlers in the area, because instruction is hard to find in this area.

Send me an email at nshils@gmail.com and I may be able to point you towards some specific people.

I spend quite a bit of time paddling with Harold Deal the designer of the Shaman, and he often uses a composite one that is manufactured by Hemlock to fit race specs (13'2''), if you are interested.

Hey Tony, I've cut down a couple of paddles, so if you're not really anxious I can show you at the pool next weekend what I have done in the past and give you some tips.

The Outrage is a good boat for its intended purpose. I first started paddling in one and almost bought my own, but ended up with an Esquif Spark. I would not paddle many other boats now. A recent test of a friend's Outrage reminded me of paddling a log--heavy, slow, wide etc. To each his/her own.

Hey Joe,
Unfortunately tomorrow is a no go for me.
I have done both the Black and the Brodhead--both fun in their own way, but with the Black/Quakake, you have to make sure the water is high enough otherwise its a really tedious and technical run that has much pinning potential.

Even better, in Bejing there was this R. Left to R. Right S gate that most people cruised through really quickly with a single stroke--in particular check out how smooth Martikan makes the move seem.
