Mitchel Premier Curved
I've got the wood shaft wood blade. It's sweet, flexes just enough and is much better ballanced than my Werner Nantahala which was blade heavy.

Pork Barral
The Pork Barrel is very flashy and there are no gages. Unless you live out there you pretty much have to get lucky.
It's no great challenge but there's some nice features and it sure is pretty.

Pork Barrel
The Pork Barrel section of the Westfield in Mass.
Catch it if you can 'cause it's a fine rare thing.

Can't speak for the Atom, but I found my Slasher pretty edgy coming from a GyraMax. What helped me the most was learning to sink the stern. At first that meant lots of rolling practice which I needed anyway. Getting used to the stern loading up and going down made me a lot more comfortable in harder...

Careful with that Axe Eugene!
A plastic welder can do some serious damage to a boat.
If you have not used one before be very very careful!

Whipit
Could be my technique. Short boats are a mystery to me. I figured mostly I was just too big for it. Didn't seem to have much primary or secondary stability. Got a Foreplay and while it's kind of slow and my technique still leaves much to be desired it's a lot easier to control and when I mess up I u...

Whip-it
I Have a Whip- it. I'm 5'10" and 190 lbs and bought it hoping that it would surf better than my Slasher.
It doesn't.
The Whip-it feels slow and squirley with a strong tendencey towards pearling. It might be better for a lighter paddler.

Boat vs outfitting
Lil'D
Your comment about the Prelude was re outfitting vs the Rival etc being too big. You, like the rest of us, most likely will need to modify the outfitting to suit in any boat.
Were I you I'd look for a hull that's likely to suit you and plan on refitting it to your needs.
G'luck,
Tommy

Hey Kevin, There are no thigh straps. Not sure about the foam. Have to dig it out of the barn and see. It's not new. I took it out of a conversion and I won't swear that it hasn't been modified. I'd prefer to sell it to someone who could look at it before deciding if they want it than to ship it to ...

Ankle Blocks
Can anyone describe or better yet point me to pictures of ankle blocks?
How long?
How wide?
Should they go right under my anklebone or where?
I have a Gyromax saddle. Could be a lttle narrow. I'll have to look at that.
Thanks,
Tommy

Take my feet PLEASE!
Had a good day in the Slasher yesterday. Had it on an easy III and stayed %100 rightside up! Paddling hard, a little forward lean and a short (48") paddle have worked wonders, mostly thanks to tips I picked up here. Problem is as I'm finally getting confident in the boat my feet have started going d...

I guess an Outrage is relativly soft chined. It certainly isn't grabby like my Slasher. But it will lock onto a carve easily. So if the wave is straight forward without cross currents or other wierdness and if you don't let it go too far from 12 o'clock, it will carve back and forth with a little le...
