Concept
Here is a picture of what I have in mind. The forward bulkhead is roughly in place for a console. It would have to move further forward if I wanted to be able to stretch. http://community.webshots.com/photo/236438901/281791318qSLJIC disclaimer I have no design or building experience. If I could buy ...

Full of water!
Ya I'd need to get the water out.
I figure on bulkheads ala Sea kayak for flotation. But leaving room to stretch my legs would leave a lot of room for water too. I'm thinking an electric pump would be handy.
Thanks,
Tommy

Re-enter and Roll - best outfitting?
I'm working on a design for a touring C1 and thinking that on open water far from shore it would be nice to be able to easily re-enter and roll. I was going to use a foam console and foot blocks since that would be the easiest to slide into from under the boat. But I've been thinking that it would b...

Zero to hero?
Something to do with going from upside down to a bowstall right?
Can someone explain ( or point me to an explanation) of how it's done?
Think I got the zero part...

JUST SAY NO!!!
You want to flatten the bottom of your Outrage?!? NOOOOOOO!!! :o You have two big curves, gunnel to gunnel and bow to stern. Assuming that you want to flatten the cross section and not the rocker I think you would have to build a platform curved to match the rocker. Set the boat on it. Heat up the h...

Hey Pat, I don't know much about Slalom but I bought a dvd on the Open Boat Nationals from Bob Fries. It's the same course and I think the same competition that Bob Putnams clip is from. On the dvd there are LOTS of Roylex boats, Dagger Phantoms, Ocoees and Captions as well as some Esquif boats. One...

Short boat cross forward technique
I mostly paddle an Outrage and a Slasher. When I do a cross forward stroke I lean forward for the catch then sit up as the boat comes up on the paddle. In those boats the forward lean seems to work well and, in the Slasher, improve my stability. But then I have this Foreplay. If I lean forward the b...

Kayaks & paddlesnakes
Kayaks? There's plenty of decked canoes but no kayaks on this site. I guess some of them used to be kayaks, but they been fixxed. Nope no kayaks here. You guy's seen any kayaks? Now paddlesnakes, those are found in rapids through out the world. They are super intelligent reptiles with a voracious ap...

Fuzzy Rubber
I had to borrow a fuzzy rubber long sleeve top last Saturday which I wore over a long sleeve polypro. No drytop. Air temp around 35F water had ice in it. The sun was bright and the wind was nil. It was very comfortable except when I put my arms in the water. Then the COLD water gave me a chill right...

Rolling (or tilting) water out of my OC1?
Got into a discusion about electric bilge pumps with a gent over on P-net in which he talked about rolling or leaning on a brace to let water out of his OC before removing the rest with a pump. Now I've heard of this before but with my 190+ lbs in my 12 ' Outrage any rolling or gunnel dipping result...

Glass Rival
Kaz ( Milbrook Boats) makes the Rival in glass.
The one I saw was pretty nice and they are not near as pricey as the Bells.

Windage
I can't compare windage between a Rival and an Outrage except to say that my freinds in Rivals don't seem much happier than I in my Outrage when the wind starts blowing us around.
For me wind is a good reason to paddle the Slasher (or any other decked boat for that matter)
