I'm famous! Ahaa - congrats to those choosing the images for their impeccable taste ;-) One will be winging it's way to Mum and Dad in good old Blighty. I might have some explaining to do though - I 'forgot' to mention running Maruia falls on my last visit home. Keep up the good work! Gwyn www.shagg...

New boat from Shaggy Designs (maybe! ....if I get the time!)

Well, All the interest in new C1 squirt designs can only be a good thing. I/We are also planning on working on a plug that has been a 'work in progress' for far too long already. I am back in the workshop in April, so maybe a prototype will be ready sometime this summer. And, even though neither of ...

Thanks from Shaggy Designs

Well, this was the first Armada that either of us had been to. It will definitely not be the last! We both had a great weekend, and it was the people that really made it. Thanks for your hospitality everyone, especially Paul. Also many thanks for the loan of the various squirt boats that we got in. ...

I stand corrected!

Hi edg,
Sorry for jumping in there - I had never heard of the Camp starkid until now. I guesss that this is the helmet that is causing the slalom intelligentsia to get their knickers in a twist in the UK?

Shaggy Designs boats at the Armada

Finally - an Armada that we are both able to be at! Shaggy Designs (Gwyn and Martin) will be coming down from Canada for the Armada this weekend - and really looking forward to meeting everyone. We will of course have some boats with us to paddle, and to swap around. We also are planning to bring a ...

It's a Brancale

Aha! You have just spotted a bit of a museum piece! This helmet is known as a Brancale. As far as I know it was the only canoeing helmet made by the French company (Brancale funnily enough!) that now make cycling helmets. The original was plastic with a cradle, much like the old ACE helmets I think....

Boats available to use in NZ

I have spent the sumer in NZ doing a bit of boating in the south Island, and am going to leave my boats here in Murch for the winter. If anyone of a C1 persuasion is coming to NZ, and needs a boat to borrow for a while (I have a C1 Mystic creeker, and a Shaggy Designs Sith playboat), then give me a ...

Are there any C1 paddlers in NZ?

And if you are a C1 paddler in NZ, would you be able to do me a big favour please?? I have 2 boats in NZ (a converted Bliss Stick Mystic, and a Shaggy Designs Sith), that are in need of a home for the winter. I am fairly sure that I will be back again for the 2007/8 summer season. Of course, if you ...

A big thank you from Shaggy Designs

First of all, thanks everyone for your positive reviews! Adam - you have hit the nail on the head concerning what the Sith was designed for. Both of us do much of our paddling on the Ottawa now, where having a faster boat means the surfing is much better, and running the river is great fun! There ar...

Stop Press!!!

**A slightly important announcement from Shaggy Designs** We have finally go around to deciding upon a name for our new craft (rather than calling it the Saint C1). Our new boat is going to be called the PAGAN! The Shaggy Designs website has just been update with some more photos of the prototype an...
