Mohawk Canoes Taking Pre-Orders for Royalex-Made Boats
Through March 2014
CHATTANOOGA, TN – (Aug. 23) Mohawk Canoes announced today that the company is now accepting pre-orders for boats that they do not currently have in stock through mid-March 2014. This comes in response to the announcement that, as of April 2014, Poly One is discontinuing the production of Royalex, the material used to fabricate Mohawk canoes.
Depending on the number of pre-orders that Mohawk receives, the company plans to order enough material to build approximately five new boats in each color of every model of boat available. Pre-orders will require a 50 percent down payment and customers should expect to receive their boats approximately three months from their order date.
This news did not come as a complete surprise, said Mohawk Owner Greg McCourt. “In anticipation, we’ve been experimenting with new materials and processes for boat manufacture. We expect to have a whitewater canoe available in early 2014 and lake boats later in the year. Unfortunately, some models may never be adapted to the new processes and materials we will have available in the future, which is why we’re taking pre-orders for those models now.”
To place pre-orders or for more information, please contact Mohawk Canoes, 2801 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37407, (423) 825-2211 or visit http://www.mohawkcanoes.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
