A friend and I are taking my kids (9 and 12) down to NC for some easy water paddling during the second half of this week. I figure we'll paddle for sure on Thurs, Fri and Sat. My friend has to go back on Saturday night, so I'm not sure if the kids and I will go back then, too, or do something short on Sunday morning. Might depend on how much fun the first 3 days are for the kids, and whether I have another skilled adult available.
In typical boater fashion, I'm not sure yet each day's itinerary. We'll be based at one of Freeman's cabins in Almond. I'll have two OC2s as well as the kids' kayaks. In kayaks, they will not go above class 1+/2-. Think Little T minus the narrows, Section 2 Chattooga, etc. In OC2, they're fine in the bow on class 2/3 - Tuck, Nanty, parts of Chattooga 3, etc. Not interested in taking them on the Ocoee yet. They both could handle it if partnered with an adult, but I see no need to rush them.
If anyone's around and interested, it'd be cool to have company.

The tuck below Dillsboro is a great, fun run that won't be too challenging for the kids. You could put the kids in inflatables (Tuck Outfitters) if you don't have another adult...
