OR Coverage - What do you want to see?

Post by RapidMediaTVGuy »

Heading to OR show in Utah this afternoon with Rapid to run the paddlesports zone again and bring you blogs and video from the show and since I'm the guy who decides where to point the camera wondering if there was anything you wanted to see? Gear review, new boats, padder interviews? Let me know and I'll try to get something posted during the week.

On a side note I learned to roll a canoe on Sunday and took my wife down the Ottawa in our Canyon Monday (and didn't need to use that roll...). Yeehaw!

The Outdoor Retailers trade show. It's where they unveil all of the rockin' new canoes every year ;-)

It's the Pyranha Shiva, and it's apparently more comparable to the Jefe/Nomad than the Stomper/Tuna...

I'll personally be interested to see what the US makes of the Zet Raptor, which has taken europe by storm this year. And I'm interested to see what people make of the Dagger Mamba 7.6/8.1/8.6 as it's apparently more like a creekboat and less like a barge.

I also really want to know what cool things are happening in soft kit... for years I've been waiting for Kokatat to stop resting on their laurels and go "Well you know how we make bomber drysuits... we've now gone and made them even better" and every year their lack of innovation puts the competition one step closer to their pedestal (to be fair, after they gave me a proto-2011 model double-d I'd say IR have now reached a parity with Kokatat; but that's heresy in many quarters.)

I'll see what we can do about the hot chicks in canoes but the best we can probably come up with is Scott in a bikini in a canoe. You still want to see that?

I spent some time yesterday chatting with the owner of Core Paddles. What, in specific, are you looking for Bob? They have a paddle cut in half at the connection point between shaft and blade to show the way it hooks up in there and cannot rotate. Pretty slick
