I have a problem and I am hoping that y'all can point me in the right direction. I am a real big fella. 6'2, 13EEE shoe and head to match. :o . I have started trying to get into white water. I took a four day learn to yak class last October . After "listening" to all yall I know I am going to be switching OC. My most serious problem right now is finding a good helmet that fits me well. I am using a Shred Ready T-dub because that is the only thing I could get on my head. It is too small. It is very uncomfortable, to the point of being a wee bit painful at times. The chin strap is no fun at all! The people at NOC told me that T-Dub was the biggest helmet they had. Something has to change. In fitted hat sizes I wear a 7 3/4 soft rim (base ball cap) 7 7/8 hard rim (full brim types like western hats). Since the helmets a hard by nature I would think the 7 7/8 would be closer to what I really need. Who makes a good head bucket that might work for me? Thanks for any help y'all can provide.

www.fnaheadgear.ca or .com?

They have big big helmets. You can customize the outfitting with all the extra bits. Expensive but a great helmet. 200 buck

Big Dave I got a big melon as well(7 3/4), the only thing that I've found to fit is Pro-Tec or Cascade predator. These are full cut helmets that are still a little snug if I wear cold weather liner, but it's tolerable. I've looked at SR and some other shortys, they don't go up to 7 3/4. Maybe someone else will have more info, good luck.

The WRSI helmets have removable liners in different sizes, may be worth a shot.

I wish more manufacturers made bigger shells for the bigger melons instead of just padding them less. It seems like they care about the pin heads more! Ever look at an old Pro-Tec in the smallest sizes? There's like 2" of foam!

Thanks for the input y'all. For bigger mellon folks like me it looks like FNA Headgear will definitely work. It also looks like Head Trip should have a couple of models that will work.

Check out the Grateful Heads Hard Hit which is supposed to fit up to a 25" head. That should be pretty darn close to a 7-7/8 hat size.

I am a fat head myself and had a hard time finding a good fit. The Lidds Nato finally worked out for me. But I don't believe that Lidds is in business any longer.
