ALF 2008 - Tellico River - Baby Falls - Pictures

Post by cmnypny »

Well boys and girls .... here are all the pics I took that day.

It took me a couple of hours to catalogue them.

They are in order by first name.

I have most of the names but for those just listed as Baby Falls xxx could people send me a PM with the start and end sequence numbers so I can update the names for future reference.

Here is Emily age 11 running the falls in her OC1.

I hope you enjoy the pics. It was worth the two hour wait to get them.

Thanks .... but the ALF sticker was all Neil's design and made them with his own hands.

He works in the industry so if anyone is looking for a vehicle wrap, etc talk to him.

Good meeting you Colin, and thanks a ton for taking the time to post those great pics. They are the reason of a non-productive morning for me (work wise). The ones you got of me are 296-303, and 362.

Thanks again!!

Baby Falls Pics

Colin, GREAT job! I am veiwing these from Wisconsin, looking out over the snowbanks still inhabiting my yard. I couldn't convince myself that I could "run" these rivers of the Alfest. So not being there, these great pics of yours are the next best thing.........Lots of "screen savers" posibilities here!!!.......Thanks again.........The Boathead............

Thanks for posting those photos Colin. I wish I could get to places/events like that!

Lots of pics of the launches - I want more of the landings!! There were a few good grimmaces at the bottom, but I want to know percentages! How many people paddle away vs. rolled and swam?

And stories - like the backwards one, on purpose or not?

(Not that it's all about the falls of course, I'm sure there were many great runs of all knds.)

Thank you very much, Colin. Greatly appreciated.

This must have gone on for hours, all those cboaters throwing themselves off Baby Falls.

Sure it has to be mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records: The most cboats off Baby Falls in any one day.

And I missed ALF! Next year I'll be back!
"A canoe trip?" he said. "There ain't nothing to go down there for."
"Because it's there," Lewis said.
