River Elf Storm Chaser M/L - blem - reduced to $1649 - SOLD

Post by River Elf C1s »

Hey Ya'll :D

We have a M/L Storm Chaser that we've recently posted on our website for sale. It's fully outfitted including hipblocks - so its ready to hit the water without any extra work. The boat has been discounted due to the deck being a cosmetic blem that required an external epoxy paint job over the original gelcoat. You can find more details here on the "instock" page of our website:

Hi guys - this boat is still available. If you are interested, we can provide free transport up to western MD/DC during memorial day (May 23-25) and likely out to Colorado around fibark (June 18-21).

The installed seat in this boat is currently at 6" (we generally recommend 5-6 inches). I believe we've had one customer who outfitted around 7" with success. For reference, the depth at the back of the cockpit of the M/L is 10". The key is, the higher up you go the more you'll want to really lock yourself into the boat since you will be more "out of it" upside down - if that makes sense - especially your knees as they can float around the roomy cockpit if not anchored down well. The hip blocks however, will really help with control and fit.

Stability wise, at 27.75" wide, you may be able to get away with as much as 8" but in that case, we'd probably recommend a bulkhead to really lock your knees.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Isaac - I appreciate that! This boat is actually from our larger/wider mold (with the depth cut down 3/4" from the XL size). It can accommodate a very wide range of paddler weights and would certainly be good for heavier folks.
