Wenonah Recon - Anyone have one?

I'm finally looking at outfitting my Recon. I'll use a bulkhead saddle for now, but may switch to a simple kneling thwart for tripping.

How far should my back of saddle be from stern? (butt to tip of stern)

I'm looking for a starting point in finding trim. Does anyone have a factory outfitted one they can measure the adjustable range of.
Or experience in outfitting one themselves?

Thanks

Impossible to answer without knowing how far the back of your saddle is from your butt.
I'd worry more about where the boat trims. I tested one at one point, and seem to recall it handled the best when paddled with weight placed in the precise center. If you're going to frequently carry gear in front of you then you might work it a bit bow-light, with the understanding it won't handle as well without that gear to balance it out.
I'd put the saddle in the boat without securing it, and paddle it around a lake or pond at different positions until I found the one I liked, then mark it, then install.
Best of luck to you,
Rob
