Mad River Liberty

Post by woodsy »

Anybody familiar with the Mad River Liberty? I’m in the market for a river touring boat that I can use for canoe camping class II whitewater. I found a deal on a Liberty and wonder if it will work for me. I am 5’7” and 180 lbs.

I would go with a MR Guide...great boat for that use.
Liberty a nice enough flatwater boat. The guide has more depth and more rocker...better for rivers. Plenty fast enough if you paddle well. A mohawk odyssey would be another good choice if you come across one.
