Looking for very young paddling companions

My wife and I are looking to paddle with fellow whitewater boaters who canoe with 4 to 8 year-olds in the Southeast.
Our six-year-old would appreciate some company his own age on day trips and overnights.
We generally run whatever's running.
Also, in lieu of paddling, let's swap the nippers' outgrown neoprene and Supersuits.
