esquif vertige vs bell prodigy

Post by MTfree »

Thoughts on the two for mostly class II overnight tripping with stretches of flat water. I am an amputee so I will be putting in a seat dropped instead of a saddle for comfort. Or any other ideas on boats, looking for something under 13. These are the two I have been looking at though.

I know a few paddlers that use the esquif vertige for overnight CI/II/III trips up to about 4 nights, including trips with flatwater and rapids.

It's a friendly hull and works well with a seat or saddle.

We have a Vertige solo. What I appreciate about the boat is it's stability. It paddles straight with little effort and does not turn as easily as I would like. These factors may be just the ticket for your use.

I paddle a Vertige for tripping. I've do e 7 days in it and could go longer. My boat has a saddle but it would handle a seat no problem. As already stated it's very stable, tracks well and maneuvers reasonably. The Vertige will have more capacity than a Prodigy.
