River Elf Road Trip
Hi C-Boaters,
It's time for us to finally get out of the shop and back on the River!!!
We can't make it to the armada next weekend, but we are planning a trip up to Western MD/DC during the Memorial Day Weekend and we'll be bringing two Medium Storm Chaser C-1's and our new Storm Rider K-1 along with us. So if you're in the area and have been interested in trying one of our boats - we'll do our best to make it happen. We'll even come to you
Here's our tentative schedule (though it would probably be best to contact us beforehand to confirm times):
Saturday May 23: North Branch of Potomac Release (Barnum)
Sunday May 24: North Branch of Potomac or Lower Yough
Monday May 25: Lower Yough/Other
Tuesday May 26: Potomac - Anglers Inn and Feeder Canal
Wed May 27 - Sunday May 31: TBD - If there is interest, we may head further north (New England) on Tuesday/Wednesday, but most likely we'll turn back south and end at the Nantahala and Ocoee for the weekend of May 29-31.
Also, as part II of the road trip, we are discussing the idea of doing a week in Colorado starting with the weekend of Fibark - probably June 18-27 'ish - but this is still tentative.
If you have interest in either of the above, please drop us an email at demos@riverelf.com, give us a call (571-332-0109), or post a response and we'll do our best to set something up.
Finally, if you're on facebook, you could really help us out by simply "liking" our page there - thanks.
Hope to paddle with many of you soon. Thanks!
Chris Soileau

Nice! Keep us posted as to things as they firm up.
I should be in the area of the LY over the Memorial Day weekend and would like to check the products out - working out details on my end!

Sounds good Paul. We will update this thread as we get closer. Saturday is fixed at the N. Branch but Sunday/Monday are flexible. Once you have an idea of your plans, let us know and we'll try to work out a time that is mutually convenient.
Thanks for the tip Brian - let's see if I did this right...

Re: River Elf Road Trip
Hi Paul,
We don't yet have a fixed schedule for monday either, but the intention is to paddle at the loop in the afternoon. We're totally flexible though. We could even meet you at/near the UY for a bit on monday morning as we'll likely be staying in MD sunday night and coming by the Upper Yough on the way north. Let us know what's most convenient for you (timewise) and we'll schedule things (including the location) around your plans. Also, feel free to call, text, or email me in the next couple of days as your plans firm up.

Re: River Elf Road Trip
We had an awesome day on the North Branch of the Potomac - thanks Jim and Walt!
We'll be at the Lower Yough Loop by 2 PM tomorrow (monday) afternoon - if you are interested you can do a demo there or nearby on the middle Yough.
Paul, if you want to meet earlier, text or call and we'll set up a fixed time - otherwise, look for us there.

Re: River Elf Road Trip
Met up with some awesome folks yesterday at the Lower Yough. Thanks Paul, Ron, and Wayne for coming out and trying the boats as well as the numerous other people we chatted with as well. We'll be at anglers inn on the potomac today (tuesday) at 3 PM and then at the feeder around 6 PM. On thursday we'll be in Raleigh, NC - if you are in triangle the area and want a quick demo, contact us and we'll set up a time and place there. We'll post one last update before the weekend - but we generally plan to be at the nanty/ocoee then. Thanks again guys!

Re: River Elf Road Trip
Which route are you taking to Raleigh? There's good park and play at Weldon. 5 minutes off i-95, just below the nc / va boarder. It's glass friendly, with deep water, sandy beach for launching, a class 2 rapid with a surf wave at the bottom.
If you're going through Richmond, VA, you may want to ping the Coastal's: http://coastals.org/forum/viewforum.php ... 98ac99af2b" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There's no whitewater in the Raleigh area, but you can ping the Carolina Canoe Club here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/cccpaddler/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: River Elf Road Trip
Thanks for the links Mike - I'll have a look. We are traveling down I-95 today and may check out the spot at weldon - that sounds cool. We're actually stopping through raleigh for another reason than boating today but wanted to make ourselves available for anyone in the area to jump in a boat on thursday - even if its just flatwater. Thought we'd offer that since were in the area.

If you do stop at Weldon, do you have any idea what time that may be?

Hey Mike, probably around 1-2 pm. Are you nearby? It might be easier to communicate via text as I'm about to get back on the road. 571-332-0109
Re: River Elf Road Trip
Thanks for the ride guys. Nice boats. Enjoyed the surf even if it was only on the dinky wave. Hope you enjoyed the Ohiopyle crew... sorry to have unleashed the old schoolers on you too. Looked like that conversation was going to be an in depth and detailed one! LOL
