Local Drop - First Descent

Post by bôchamp »

So this is it ...

We've been looking at this drop since 2 years (when we started boating)
back then we'd never really taught we'd do it one day ...

this years, we had a good debut de saison and since a couple weeks we were keeping an eye on the level, waiting for the dame to release the water.

Friday, after work, we've scouted it and decided to do it ...
level was good, and the drop looked good. The entry looked a little sketchy but ... you know nothing is never perfect ! haha

so we get our boat and met there.
we scouted it from the other side of the river and gave it a go !

Steve went first ... and NAILED IT !!!

then he came back to scout it with me ... and made sure to tell me that the little drop before the bigger drop is bigger than we thought ...

and guess what ! ... It was :

Such an unhappy place to be out of your boat ... but it is part of the game ( i guess :P)

more fear than hurts ...

And finally, KingPin has been run !!! (in and out !)

AH! We were driving on the 50 and passed over the Lievre a couple of times this weekend and saw how much water was in it...wondered if there was something worth running in there. Is that drop the horizon line downstream of the highway?

No !! ... we scouted this drop (when there was no water) and there is a bunch of hole in the rocks at the bottom, forming scary undercut ...

This drop is on the river right, you can't see it from the road.
it needs the dame to run, this channel has no water in the summer ..
