NEW! Weekly forum topic - Boat of the Week

Post by Sir Adam »

I'm going to finally start something I've been meaning to for a while - a thread for certain boats. My intent is to start each week with a different boat, assuming discussion has settled down a bit. The goal is to link each thread to the museum page for each boat and have a dialog about that boat.

What I'm hoping to see is folks recollections of the boats history and their personal experiences with the boat. Information about you is helpful when talking about experiences so others can compare themselves (e.g. someone who is 160 lbs may have a very different experience in the same boat as someone who is 220 lbs). Please keep this to the boat in question, though comparisons to other boats are very welcome.

Also if you have images please upload them to your post - we can always use more images of boats!

I'm hoping this will be both fun an informative, both to folks who have paddled for decades and those just entering the sport.

After labor day - responses to the BotW slowed down a bit for summer, so I'm waiting for fall to start them back up again.

Is there a way to link the specific boat of the week thread with the boat listing in the canoe museum so that it's easier to find all the feedback/info in one location?

Watching the boats come through nanny falls over Labor Day.
This sometimes is like watching a classic car show.
Very entertaining , but what do my wondering eyes appear
But a what looks like a very well preserved The Edge by Mohawk.
Never paddled one but I understand that the DNA of a lot of performance
Boats can be traced back to this classic Frankie design.
Seems like a good place to start. What do you think.

Searching "boat of the week" will turn up many, many threads on different boats. When responses dwindled we stopped the weekly posts.

Maybe this winter we'll start it up again:)
