When were cascades and atoms last made

Post by RobertM »

I was just wondering. Somebody asked me the other day how old my boat was. I had picked it up used and I realized I didn't have a clue as to when Dagger made these boats.

Hey Robert

I have the bill of sale for an Atom, dated May, 1998. It may have been a new release that year, or possibly the year before.

The Cascade predated the Atom, but I don't remember by how many years.

I think 2001 was the last year they offered the Atom based on this...

Cascade was probably phased out around 1996

The Cascade was introduced in 1994. It still appears in a 1996 Dagger Catalog I have but the Atom does not.

Was it as late as '94? I vaguely remember trying one out on the Nanty. Jon Lugbill was the designer. He and Adam Clawson were probably already working on the Dagger Zealot in '94 for the '96 Olympics. The Atom appears influenced by the Zealot design, cab forward with chines up into the bow.

As i recall Cascade was in part a Lugbill design, Atom was Andy Bridge.

Atom was first sold in 1997 (a few) as i recall.

Some glass Atoms were made by Class V. Anyone know if they are still building?

My Cascade is a 94(cool colors back then). Made of some tough stuff still no oil-caning. My cockpit is good too. I have heard about cracks & the cockpit rim?
