PA LY this weekend? (Aug 14-15)

Post by Cheeks »

I'm going to be the only open boater in my group, if my group decides to come with me. Any other open boaters gonna be out there?

I ran the Lower two weeks ago, and it went really well. I just want to get some runs in this weekend before it gets swarmed for falls fest.

OK, Saturday I will be in Ohiopyle all day, camping out at a campground. Sunday, I have to drive back to New Jersey, so it will be either a very early run or a loop.

Additional question: If I go to Ohiopyle without firm plans, what are the chances of meeting some boaters? I saw lots of yakkers two weeks ago, but not many open boaters.

I know a group from Harrisburg that will be there!

hi there-

A Harrisburg group is running a first-timers trip and one of the 'escorts', Vern, will be in an open boat- great paddler. PM me with your email and I can let him know to look for you.

I live near Philly and I'm passing on this trip due to distance... but could be persuaded if there was someone to carpool with!

I was out there. Only other open boat I saw, other than our group(vern/phil/me) was someone in a yellow Phantom. I believe.

I was in a Yellow Det.

That's funny, I paddled with them Saturday. I saw your Det then on Saturday, because there wern't many open boats on the river that weekend.
