Drysuit Repair

Post by Jon »

My new drysuit now has a half inch tear in the elbow. I'm using duct tape on the inside right now. Suggetions for a permanent repair? Thanks.

get some nylon fabric repair patches (mec or other stores).. if you really want to be fancy, you can go for gore-tex patches... but i certainly wouldn't bother spending the extra money on a 2x2" patch

get rid of the duct-tape, and try to get all the goop off of the fabric that the tape will leave behind

coat the patch in aquaseal, and stick to inside of tear.
put some aquaseal on the outside of the suit as well.

should take you twenty minutes, and will leave you with a dry elbow.

good luck,
